The Production Team
John White – Director
John's first real interest in drama was at college where he appeared in several productions as he trained to become a teacher.
When he moved to Turriff in Aberdeenshire in the 80's he became a member of an amateur theatrical group and appeared in several pantomimes and musicals, the highlight being as an ugly sister in Cinderella. 'The false boobs weren't too bad,' he states, 'but the high heels were awful.'
When he and his family moved down to Perthshire he became involved with Alyth Musical Society where he has been a member for 16 years. He became their producer in 2003 and has directed 'My Fair Lady', 'A Tale of Two Cities', 'Nell's Belles', 'Wild Wild Women' and last year a show he co-wrote with TLYMT Musical Director Colin Grant, 'Bluebeard'.
Recently, John produced 'Return To The Forbidden Planet' with the Thomson-Leng Youth Music Theatre and he is also currently directing Alyth Musical Society’s production of ‘Phantom of the Country Opera' which is to be staged in April.
Ross Lesslie – Choreographer
Ross is training with the Lee Shepherd School of Dance and has studied ESTILL vocal training at Dundee College. ‘Anything Goes’ marks his choreography debut, having been a member of Thomson-Leng Musical Society since childhood. He has performed with many Tayside and Angus companies, including Apex Productions, Dundee Schools Music Theatre, Song Shop and Sounds Spectacular.
Stuart Brand – Musical Director
Stuart studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, graduating with honours in performance. He has performed throughout central Scotland, mainly in musical theatre. Now lecturing at Dundee College, he specialises in the teaching of singing and the ESTILL technique. Musical Direction credits include ‘Irene’, ‘Godspell’, ‘Me And My Girl’ and most recently, ‘We Will Rock You’ for Apex Productions. Following ‘Anything Goes’, Stuart will continue working on ‘Vocal Showcase 2008’ for Dundee College
